My Secrets on How We get Mega Deals at Great Wolf Lodge Every Year

My family has been to the Great Wolf Lodge every year since 2013 when my oldest turned one. Great Wolf Lodge has been our end of the year family tradition, and annual birthday celebrations for our two boys since the beginning. Here’s how we get save big with discounts every year we go.

Early Saver

If you are like me then you are literally always looking for a deal (I just refuse to pay full price for just about anything).

Most people don’t know but Great Wolf Lodge offers an Early Saver discount, where you can save up to 50% off your stay when booking more than 60 days in advance. If you stay one night you get 30% off; two nights you receive 40% off, and three or more nights you receive 50% off. We use this discount all the time and have saved hundreds of dollars doing so. The most we have ever paid for 2 nights at the resort is $254.34 compared to $650 most people pay during the summer. More money saved, means a better peace of mind when on vacation.

Off Season Booking

Did you know that if you book your hotel during the colder months you save more money?

I know that trying to go to the GWL during the Fall, or Winter can be hard for some families who have children who are in school, sports, and other extra-curricular activities. If you aren’t comfortable with your kids missing school, book in advance (using EarlySaver) and go while the kids are on Winter break. During the winter, Great Wolf Lodge always have 30% off on rooms, PLUS you can use early saver discounts on top of that, which equals (=) to the amount of a total steal. For a room that is about $330 a night, you end up getting for $89.00 (I know thank me later).

Taking my bow

Going during offseason is much cooler anyway, it means it’s fewer people in the park, shorter wait times for fun activities, and more time for having uninterrupted fun. One year we stayed in the park until closing and rode the biggest slide 8 times in a row, there was barely anyone in the park, it was like we rented out the whole thing for ourselves.

Promo Codes

Promo codes, promo codes, promo codes, ALWAYS look for promo codes before buying ANYTHING. I am the queen of searching and finding working codes, and you should start too. Great Wolf Lodge has numerous codes for you to use during checkout for some small, and big savings. A promo code that is always working is the 30% off HEROS15 discount for military, fire, emergency medical service personnel, 911 dispatchers, police and correctional officers. It has come in handy for us on many occasions.

I use RetailMeNot most of the time, but there are so much more apps to choose from to find the best deals and codes.

Um About the Food

GWL offers various style restaurants, that offer hamburgers, pizza, breakfast etc.. They are all delicious, however; they can get really expensive when you are there for more than two days. To save money I recommend buying a few groceries (snacks, juices, chips, sandwich meat), and stocking your mini fridge, ordering pizza from an outside pizzeria (the lodge allows deliveries), or pack up the kids to go eat at a local restaurant. We never eat all our meals at the resort, and we save a lot of money by following these tips.

Travel $mart

Great Wolf Lodge can be pricey but if you go at the right time, use the right promo codes, and book well in advance you can save money to be able to actually enjoy an affordable trip with your family. Travel $mart, save money, strengthen your marriage, grow closer as a family, refocus on values, dismantle stereotypes, and create a happier home life.

  1. Thanks for all the great tips! Quick question – on the food – what does the $60/day/person “all 3 meals included” entail? Have u heard of that one? I’m not waiting 270 callers to find out 😁

You’re welcome. At the Great Wolf Lodge, we go to every year, we only did the $60 a day the very first time we went. We got breakfast (Buffet style), Lunch, and dinner. There is a small restaurant in the resort that you show your band to at certain times of the day, where you are admitted in to eat. It was very convenient BUT very expensive compared to how much we saved when we went off the resort to eat the 2nd year we went. If you have any more questions feel free to ask. Hope that helped you out!
